The Statue

Busy weekend! Worked on a statue for the video game. This is of the Goddess Kapra, seen else where in sketch form and in the Entryway painting. This is a lower poly than some of my other characters, it will be a statue located higher than the eye line of the character. kapra34colorkapra34nocolorkaprabackcolorkaprabacknocolorkapracolorfrontkapracolorsidekaprafrontnocolorkaprasidenocolor

Harpy Model

The sketches, seen earlier for the harpy have finally manifested into a Zbrush Model. It took a while to figure out the mechanics of the wings but it worked itself out. Here is the harpy model for the video game. harpy3quartnocolorharpybackcolorharpybacknocolorharpyfrontcolorharpyfrontnocolorharpysidecolorharpysidenocolorharpythreequarterscolor

Book Studies

A great source of practice for character development and creation, is any book that can hold your interest. I’ve recently done some book studies between class projects here are the results of that:  Carrie was the first one I created, to practice during class. I worked a little on the Harry Potter one over summer break. Honestly if there was a Harry Potter Cartoon with the original story it would do so well right now. There is a big push to make books into TV shows and it would have lots of spin off potential (there could be a spin off of Harry’s parent’s or even a spin off of the next generation).

Creating Characters

Character design is my ultimate dream. For the past few years I have been focusing on improving my style and creating a cast of characters. Peter, Joanna, and Strella have already been introduced but here are some more concept sketches.

The Goddess Kapra

For our the video game I am currently working on, it is centered around this religion that we created for the game. Isorroism is based on this regenerative cycle of light and dark in which once on god dies, the next is determined by the battle between a champion of light and dark. Kapra was the Light goddess that fell right before the start of the video game.

Here I have provided a colored sketch of what she would look like and initial sketchbook ideas.

Joanna Pierce

Joanna Pierce is the main character of a story I have been working on for about 2 years now. It is kind of hard to explain her without giving away everything the story is about, but she does go through a lot of transformation through out it. She starts as a sweet 11 year old girl, who looses her family, country, and, later, her eyesight. Although she may loose her way through that hardship, she becomes stronger still.

These are some more recent digital sketches of her, trying to capture her personality. Hopefully I will be adding more of her early design later on as well. Screen Shot 2017-02-05 at 10.31.24 AM.pngScreen Shot 2017-02-05 at 10.31.12 AM.pngScreen Shot 2017-02-05 at 10.30.57 AM.png
